Chestnut Hill

Chestnut Hill is one of the most suburban areas of Brookline and actually spans three separate municipalities and counties. Parts of Chestnut Hill are in Brookline (Norfolk County), Boston (Suffolk County) and Newton (Middlesex County). This issue can be particularly important to be aware of as each area is in a different public school system. The Brookline area of Chestnut Hill is known for its sprawling estates and multi-million-dollar homes. The main shopping center is the Mall at Chestnut Hill. Brookline’s Chestnut Hill neighborhood is also known for The Country Club, the oldest country club in the United States and host to numerous USGA tournaments. Most homes in this area feed into the Heath School, the John D. Runkle School or the Edith C. Baker School.
